After breaking box office records in Mexico, the hit romantic comedy Mesa de Regalos has officially made its U.S. debut — now streaming exclusively on Hulu and Disney+. The film, starring Cassandra Sánchez Navarro and José Eduardo Derbez, arrives as part of a unique partnership between Miércoles Entertainment Studios, Hulu, and Disney+, bringing one of Mexico’s most beloved recent films to an even wider audience.
During its theatrical run, Mesa de Regalos became a cultural phenomenon, ranking among the 15 highest-grossing Mexican films of all time and securing its spot as the second most successful of the last decade. With nearly 2 million moviegoers and more than $6.6 million in box office earnings, the film’s success underscores the growing global appetite for authentic, heartfelt Spanish-language storytelling.
A Wedding to Remember — Sort Of
In Mesa de Regalos, lifelong friends Nicolás and Antonia have watched their peers find love, stability, and success while their own lives remain chaotic. After attending countless weddings and struggling to chase their own dreams, they come up with a wild, half-crazy plan: fake a wedding, rake in the gifts, and split the profits. The plan? Antonia will “leave” Nicolás at the altar, and they’ll keep the loot to finally fund their ambitions.
But as their scheme unfolds, unexpected emotions, complications, and hilarious twists take center stage — reminding both the characters and the audience that love (and friendship) can be the biggest surprise gift of all.
